September flew by and it's time for a new Group Hug. This month we'll be Hugging Missy.
She is 49 years old and just had a bone marrow transplant on Sept 27th. How can we best pray? Her friend Lisa put it beautifully: "We are asking our Almighty God to superintend over these procedures and direct the hands of all the medical staff that help Missy. Pray that Missy's body won't reject the stem cells, no graft/host disease (GVHD), protection for her heart, liver, lungs, skin and intestines. Pray the new stem cells recognize and kill the leukemia cells. Pray Missy can be active and walk without joint pain, and please pray for no infection in the months to come. Please pray for God's overwhelming peace for Missy, Charlie and their family. Finally, please pray for Missy to be bold as she desires to be a light for Jesus, as we know she is! Hebrews 4:16 (ESV) Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
I know you'll all make wonderful cards to encourage Missy as she heals and recovers. I can't wait to see your creations!
